Report: K2 To Purchase Rights To APB
GameIndustry.biz is reporting that K2 Network is in an agreement to purchase the rights to the now-shut-down MMO, All Points Bulletin.
The once-Realtime Worlds project was sold for nearly £1.5 million, bought up by K2 who also developed the free-to-play title, GamersFirst.
There's even hope that the MMO could be up and running again by the end of the year. K2 is expected to make an official announcement before the end of the week.
APB went live in the US in June and in the UK in July, meanwhile the developer, Realtime Worlds laid off its entire MyWorld team. RTW rehired nearly 25 people to keep MyWorlds up and running until a buyer for the game could be found. RTW issued a statement regarding APB stating that the average user spent $28 per month on the game.
