Dead Rising 2 Ships 2 Million Units

Capcom has announced that their recently released title, Dead Rising 2, has shipped over 2 million units since its release at the end of September.

The mega-publisher also announced that the Dead Rising series has sold over 4 million units. Capcom also confirmed that they had purchased the developer, Blue Castle Games. The studio's new name will be Capcom Game Studio Vancouver.

Alas, with all good things come the bad...Capcom did announce that their numbers were down nearly 40 percent from a six month period ending on September 30.

Dead Rising 2 released at the end of September for the PS3, 360, and PC. Dead Rising: Case Zero was released in August for the XBLA as a prologue to Dead Rising 2. Dead Rising: Case West is scheduled to be released via the XBLA as well but has no release date.
