Aussies to miss out on Aliens vs Predator game
It seems Aussie gamers will again miss out on another big title due to their classifiaction board, the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC). This time the game in question is Sega's
Aliens vs Predator. The game has been refused classification, presumably because the game doesn't fit the criteria for the highest ranking of MA15+ (There are no R18+ rated games in Australia).
A spokesperson from Sega Australia was quoted as saying
"SEGA Australia can today confirm that the initial submission of Aliens vs Predator has been Refused Classification by the Classification Operations Board of Australia. We will continue to investigate all options available to us, including the possibility of appeal".
We can only hope that the appeals process allows the game to receive a classification so that Aussie gamers can play the game the way it's meant to be. Otherwise they may be forced to play an edited version - which just wouldn't be the same.
