Splinter Cell Conviction hampered by freezing

Splinter Cell Conviction hampered by freezing
I sit on my couch thinking about how I have an exam in three days. Instead of doing the rational thing and studying, I have decided to spend most of today playing my beloved Splinter Cell Conviction, which was just released today. I also sit on my couch and stare at the image of Sam Fisher in a hallway with classical art adorning the walls, eternally frozen.

Supposedly a day one patch for the game is causing these issues. Luckily, there is a way around it!

UPDATE:It's fixed! Go forth and snap some necks!

Forum goers on the Ubisoft forums have found erasing your Xbox 360 hard drive cache and rebooting the 360 disconnected to Live fixes the problem. In order to clean your cache (which only removes all game updates, so nothing you can't go back and re-download), simply go to the 'System Settings' window on the Dashboard. Choose memory, highlight your hard drive, press 'Y' for device options, and choose to clear your system cache.

As for a long term fix, well hopefully in the coming hours something gets released. In the mean time, I guess I'll go *shudder* study.
