Nippon Ichi Details New Plans and Projects
Earlier today, at the Akihbara Denkigai Festival event in Japan, Nippon Ichi CEO Sohei Shinkawa revealed a few new titles in the works, as well as the company's hopes to release an original Vita title sometime next year.
The developer/publisher released a Disgaea 3 re-release, titled Disgaea 3 return alongside the Vita's launch in Japan. During a Q&A session at today's event, someone asked if the company was planning on putting out anything else for the new handheld, and Shinkawa shared that they'd like to release something next year. Nothing beyond that answer was shared, like if the company already has something in development, or what that might be. However, considering that they'd like to put something out within the next 12 months, it should be safe to assume they've already started working on something.
Beyond the plans for Vita, Shinkawa revealed earlier in the day that the company currently has two titles slated for release in 2012: a new adventure game coming in Summer, and a new dungeon RPG being developed by the Disgaea team that's coming out "sometime" in 2012. Nothing aside from genres was revealed about these forthcoming games.
