Neil Patrick Harris Joins Cast of Spidey Alums for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions
Hah. Amazing. I do so love double entendres.

A press release out of Activision and Marvel today reveals the voice actors for our four Spideys in Shattered Dimensions. What will get most people excited, out of pure geek awesome, is Neil Patrick Harris voicing Amazing Spider-Man. See? Double entendre. 'Cause, ya know, Neil Patrick Harris is amazing, and...never mind.

But this game is actually going back to Spidey roots for all of their talent. Each universe(dimension?) will feature a voice actor who has voiced the web-slinger at one point or another in the past.

Neil Patrick Harris voiced our hero for Spider-Man: The New Animated Series, which ran for a single season back in 2003. Josh Keaton, who is voicing Ultimate Spider-Man, also provided the voice for him in the 2008-2009 series The Spectacular Spider-Man. Noir Spider-Man is being voiced by a favorite of mine(and this is telling of how young I am), Christopher Daniel Barnes, who voiced the character in the Spider-Man toon of my childhood, the 1994-1998 Spider-Man. And last, but not least, one whom more of you will probably recognize, is Dan Gilvezan, providing the voice for 2099 Spider-Man, who also took on the role in the 1981-1983 Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.

A game with voice actors who are known for the role they're playing in one way or another are always welcome in my book. What would Arkham Asylum have been if we hadn't had Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill? Okay, it probably still would have been awesome, but not as awesome. This news only has me more excited for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions's September 7th release.
