Sims 3 Expansion, Late Night, Brings Overnight Jobs, Nightclubs, and Vampirism

As today's EA Showcase progresses, the announcements will come pouring in. First, we were introduced to the next expansion pack for The Sims 3, Night Life.

In the words of the presenter, the night is a bit of an "awkward time" in The Sims, as most people...sleep at night. So the Sims team has decided to expand on that by adding the whole night life aspect of typical city life. There are new night jobs available for players, as well as new places to go that are open specifically at night, like clubs.

Most interesting, though, is the addition of Vampirism. The supernatural aspects of The Sims 3 have been pretty popular, and so the team decided to expand on that by adding a full-fledged vampire mode to the game. There are various bloodlines that can be tracked and several families that will be living throughout the city.

I will say, Vampires player characters is never something I expected to see in a Sims game. Still, it looks like Night Life adds some pretty interesting new concepts to The Sims.

Sims 3: Late Night will be released this Fall.
