What the hell DICE, where is the MoH 360 beta?

What the hell DICE, where is the MoH 360 beta?
When I first got a look at Medal of Honor a couple of months ago my ears perked up and I took notice of this game. I have never been a huge fan of the Medal of Honor franchise but with DICE, maker of what I think is a great overall title: Battlefield Bad Company 2, behind it and quite impressive visuals I wanted to find out more about MoH. Once I discovered a beta was coming to the 360 I went out and pre-ordered it… man was that an awful decision.

The story behind Medal of Honor does not sound very innovative. You take control of members of an elite group of soldiers that are above even the Special Forces called Tier 1. So, the story doesn’t sound like anything new but DICE makes good multiplayer games so I thought that even if I didn’t like the game after playing the beta at least I could switch my pre-order to another game. However, as you may already know, the beta for the 360 isn’t even available yet. 3 weeks after the beta was promised it still isn’t here.

The reasons behind this could be any number of things. Most likely though is that the beta either did not pass Microsoft’s standards for betas or the code is very seriously flawed. Gaming conspiracy theorists would have you believe that DICE is not bringing the beta to the Xbox 360 as quickly as they should be because of the exclusive deal that Activison, rival of MoH’s publisher EA, signed with Microsoft. That is extremely unlikely but the fact still remains that the beta is not available and I, along with many other 360 gamers, are sitting wondering why in the hell we pre-ordered this game.

I regret my decision to pre-order this game even more now that I just recently received an e-mail from EA giving me a free code for the beta. At least, like I said, I can switch my pre-order to another game but still it’s like EA wants me to punch a hole in my wall.

Am I getting too angry and pissed off about this? I don't think so.

When I put my own money, whether its 5 dollars or 60 dollars, into a game I expect the game to at least work right. After my multiplayer debacle with Red Dead Redemption (which by the way still fails me) I just want the MoH beta to work so I can try out this game I am very interested in.

The worst part of all of it is the lack of information coming from the folks at DICE and EA. Blog posts and Twits (that’s right isn’t it? Twits… or is it Tweets?) from the company have been essentially repeating themselves. “We are sorry the beta is not available yet. We are working hard on it”. I for one am getting tired of it; I wish they would just tell us what’s wrong with the game. I know it’s not like I bought the retail game and can’t play it but when they say a beta will be live on the 21st then it should be live on the 21st… am I right? No news from DICE for about a week on the beta but if things keep going the way they are then I estimate we will get the beta about a week before the game releases in October.

So what the hell DICE? What the hell?
