Gears of War 2 8xp Begins
Achievement addicts get ready for your fix because it's about to start raining 'ba-boop's' (that would be the noise your 360 makes when a notification pops up) up in here. The Gears of War 2 8xp weekend starts today.

As you may have noticed, the Gears team loves to blow stuff up. Like, a lot. So with Independence Day and Canada Day rapidly approaching, there was really no question as to how we’d bring the party to Gears of War 2. From 9 AM Thursday, July 1, through 9 AM Tuesday, July 6, we’re lighting up Horde with one hell of a fireworks display—nine solid waves of Tickers followed by a single wave of pure Boomer action. Best of all, we’re capping it off with eight times the experience across all multiplayer modes. It’s insane! It’s pyrotechnic! It’s this weekend!
This experience points extravaganza is just the latest in a line of 6xp and double-xp weekends that the fine folks at Epic Games have been delivering. I for one will be clocking a whole lot of Gears over the next 5 days to get closer to the 'Veteran Gear' achievement for reaching level 100 and all of the Horde achievements.
