6.00 Custom Firmware Fake or Legit?

Well Sony has once again beaten the homebrew scene with the OFW 6.00 and we are now unable to play great games such as MotorStorm: Arctic Edge, Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days, and Dirt 2, which is still questionable (for PSP that is). With highly anticipated September games such as Persona, Obscure: The Aftermath, and Undead Knights we are definitely stuck in a rut. However, two brothers seem to be shedding some light for us and they are known as Team MACK with their CFW 6.00 MAC-B, but is it real or just merely a quick scheme to gain the spotlight? Watch the videos and judge for yourself!

In this video we get a glimpse of the recovery mode which looks a lot like the 5.55 GEN-B we are all familiar with. The green text is a dead give away, and there are countless ways to shun these guys as mere fakes. A few examples would be to point out the YouTube account was made the day this video was released, these guys just came out of nowhere with no given names, no 6.00 features were shown and no homebrew was seen launched.

In this second video team MACK responds to their criticism and heated welcome with a text based video. Some issues are discussed such as their name: Matt and Jack thus MACK.

In this third and final video team MACK is back showing us a little bit more of the system update, but this is all still a bit sketchy. There are still NO 6.00 features shown, no cold boots, no homebrew launched. Some people claim these screens shown were coded plugins or even perfectly timed flash made videos running on the PSP.

While the mix of haters and lovers are about dead even there's no telling if this is real or not. All we can do is hope and wait or our homebrew and UMD loving happy medium will be doomed forever.

Whilst in the mix of all of this people wonder just where is Dark Alex? Our masked crusader who fights off the evil codes of Sony has completely vanished. Rumors say he quit the scene, some say he secretly works for Sony, some say he just stopped as a cruel joke and is laughing behind his computer screen. Only time will tell...
