In just four weeks, the epic story that catalysed the events of one of the world’s most celebrated video game sagas will unfold with the launch of
Halo: Reach, the most anticipated game of the year. In the face of an insurmountable Covenant invasion, a team of fearless Spartans will rise to the challenge and complete one final, legendary mission.
Bungie and Microsoft today released “A Spartan Will Rise,” a new video for
Halo: Reach that offers a preview of the inspiring story of Noble Team, a heroic group of Spartans who, through great sacrifice and courage, saved countless lives in the face of impossible odds.

Major Nelson
blogged that the first Modern Warfare 2 DLC will be coming exclusively to Xbox 360 first.
He also confirmed that the new DLC, details of which are currently unknown, will be released this spring.
Xbox users will be able to experience free online play in Grand Theft Auto this weekend. From October 30 to November 1, Xbox Live Silver members will gain complete access to the online multiplayer in
GTA IV, The Lost And Damned and
The Ballad Of Gay Tony. Members of the development team will also be online throughout Friday evening, under the usernames 'GwRockstar1' through to 'GwRockstar16'.
The Ballad Of Gay Tony can be downloaded separately or purchased on disc with
The Lost And Damned from October 29.
Gearbox Software will deploy an update for the 360 version of Borderlands today 10/30, at 2am CST. This update will include fixes for issues that some 360 users have been experiencing.
The PS3 and PC editions will follow suit soon enough, the studio affirms to users.
With next week's XBox360 update a block for 'unauthorized' memory units is included.
Major Nelson wrote this on his blog:
"When Preview Program members start receiving the Xbox 360 system update next week, one of the changes is that unauthorized Memory Units will no longer work with the Xbox 360. If you have moved your profile or saved games onto one, you had better move it back onto an authorized Xbox 360 storage device prior to taking the update. If you continue to use an unauthorized Memory Unit after the update, you will not be able to access your stored profile or saved games."

Microsoft has confirmed that there is an Xbox 360 802.11n adapter in the works. Unfortunately, the confirmation was accompanied by few actual details.
Other than the fact that the adapter will allow gamers to "seamlessly connect with their home network with the highest wireless 'N' technology", we don't know anything about when it will release or, more importantly, how much it will cost.
Microsoft did refer to the device as "another choice to consumers", which lends credence to the belief that it will be marketed alongside the current Wi-Fi adapter, as opposed to replacing it altogether. Microsoft stated that more details will be available "soon" and advised us all to "stay tuned".
Not only will
Forza Motorsport 3 show off the new Audi V10, but Turn 10 together with Microsoft and Ferrari has decided to include 29 Ferrari's in the game. Which 29 isn't known yet, but big names like Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari 512 TR, Ferrari F40, Ferrari Enzo and Ferrari 430 will surely be there.
Microsoft will release a 250GB Xbox 360 bundled with
Forza Motorsport 3 on October 23. The console will ship with a 250GB hard drive, two wireless controllers, a headset and a standard edition of 360 exclusive racer
Forza 3 for an estimated retail price of $413.
The announcement follows the unveiling of a
250GB Modern Warfare 2 Xbox 360 earlier this week.
Microsoft has said that it won’t be selling the 250GB hard drive individually.
Microsoft has confirmed that a massive 250 GB Xbox 360 will be arriving in the US alongside
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The bundle, announced at a press event in Los Angeles this morning, includes the custom designed console, massive 250 GB hard drive, two wireless controllers and a standard edition of Modern Warfare 2 for US $399.99. It's available for pre-order today at U.S. retailers, and other regions are said to follow "later this week".
Microsoft has continued to distance itself from the opportunity to build a new console. Phil Spencer - speaking to
Develop suggested that few are signalling for a new Microsoft console.
“Do we need to sell a new console at some point? I don’t think we need to right now,” he said. “We’ll wait until our experiences are at the right point, like we have done with the Natal camera. We’ll wait until everyone is ready for it from a software perspective.”
Brian Jarrard, Community Director at Bungie, confirmed on this week’s
Bonus Round over at GameTrailers that
Halo 3: ODST was complete and ready for shipping in May, before this year’s E3. Developing the game took only one year, mainly because Bungie decided to use the 3-4 year old
Halo 3 engine again. Microsoft decided to hold the game back, in order to shift more copies by selling the game nearer to the end of the year.
Brian also mentioned that the development team moved back to
Halo: Reach, which will be using a new game engine, as soon as
ODST was complete. This may explain why
ODST will also be shipping with a multiplayer beta component for
Halo: Reach, which when announced at E3, left us all scratching our heads.
Halo 3: ODST is set to release in North America and Europe on September 22nd.
Sumthing Else Music Works proudly presents

www.sumthing.com, and will be available for digital download on Sumthing Digital
