Following EA's announcement that
Mass Effect 2 would be making the jump to PlayStation 3, Bioware has hinted that the third game might be appearing on the system too. Ray Muzyka, boss of Bioware, told
VG247 that a PS3 version of
Mass Effect 3 would "be a good guess". He then went on to say that details haven't been announced yet.
“That’d be a good guess, but we haven’t announced any details on any future formats or anything, or even formally announced Mass Effect 3 yet, although there’s a natural assumption that there will be a Mass Effect 3 as it’s a trilogy." He then added "We’ve said that and more or less confirmed it, but we haven’t announced any details on the product yet, or the platforms.
Earlier today it was revealed that
inFamous 2's Cole was going back to his
original design after criticism of the new look. Like the first game,
inFamous 2 will have comic book style cutscenes and they're looking even more impressive this time around.
It's very stylish and should be very effective in creating the comic book superhero feeling Sucker Punch is going for. Check out the video over on the
PlayStation Blog.
Ubisoft has revealed that the
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer beta will be released this September. It was shown at the end of the Comic Con trailer which can be found after the jump. As announced at this years E3, the beta will be exclusive to the PS3 so 360 owners will have to sit this one out.
Beta keys can be obtained by pre-ordering a copy of the game at selected retailers.
Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will be released on the PS3, X360 and PC on November 16 (US).
November 16 will see the release of Sackboy's latest adventure,
LittleBigPlanet 2 complete with all the playing, creating and sharing you could ask for. However, if you want a few extra bonuses then the collectors edition is definitely a worthwhile purchase.
With 11 Sackboy costumes, 5 PSN avatars, two bookends (To keep your games in line) and, wait for it, a seven inch Sackboy plushie. All of that is for $79.99 which is a great price when you consider what you're getting with it. Continue after the jump for a picture of the collectors edition and more details on the costumes.
Sony has announced that a
Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days demo will be released next week for PSN. Subscribers to PlayStation Plus will get the demo on Monday (July 19). Non-members will get it later with US residents being able to download it July 20 while EU residents will get it July 21.
Previously, a demo was released on Xbox 360 for people who had tokens handed out by Square Enix. This was on July 1 and it hasn't been released to everyone yet so it will probably be available on Xbox Live soon. The full game will see release on August 17 in US for the PS3, X360 and PC.
Yesterday, we reported that
Killzone 3 would have co-op but it turns out that this was a mistake which has now been updated.
"Unfortunately the Killzone 3 preview contains a piece of erroneous information about a four-player co-op mode which isn't present in the game. It was something that had been rumoured that we mistakenly picked up on as fact. Apologies for that, especially to Guerrilla for whom this has been an annoyance."
This doesn't mean to say that Co-op won't be included though; it could be announced at a later date.
One of
Killzone 2's criticisms was that the game contained no co-op but fortunately the sequel will be changing that. This weeks FirstPlay, a digital magazine available on the European PSN store, has revealed that co-op will be included in Guerrilla latest entry to the series.
"We do know that Guerrilla is working on a special objective-based 4-man co-op mode to go with the standard 2-player stuff,”
That's according to
That VideoGame Blog. It's worth noting that it sounds more like a separate mode rather than letting 4 players play through the campaign. Probably similar to
Battlefield: Bad Company's Onslaught mode.
