Rockstar San Diego wives standing up for their men?

A little over half a decade ago the EA Spouse controversy started to take hold and now it seems that Rockstar Games' San Diego based studio is in the same boat. For those unfamiliar with the EA Spouse controversy it all started with a blog created by the fiancée of an Electronic Arts employee who was being forced to work unfair hours for unfair wages and based on a Gamasutra blog post it seems that Rockstar San Diego may be unfairly treating its employees.

The blog post, which was formatted as an open letter supposedly from the wives of Rockstar San Diego employees, contends that since March 2009 work conditions have been deteriorating at a drastic rate to the point that some employees are having health issues over the stress of working 12 hour days six days a week. The writer of the letter contends that if conditions do not improve dramatically in short order that legal action will be pursued.

At this time, the legitimacy of post cannot be verified and Rockstar Games has not made an official statement. In any case this story could have industry wide ramifications so we will be sure to stay on top of it.
