Hooked Gamers - Get Your Game On!
How could I not pick this up as soon as it came out? One of my most anticipated sequels, regardless of whether or not there was really a need for it.
A young gamer raised by young parents, only insuring I'd have something to play as soon as I could handle a controller. I've played them all, from the ColecoVision up through the current gen, skipping only a few along the way.

  • Shadow of the Colossus
  • Assassin\'s Creed Series
  • Uncharted Series
  • Dragon Age: Origins

Company of Heroes Online Dated

THQ and Relic have released the first trailer for Company of Heroes Online. While the trailer is standard fare, with no gameplay footage or anything like that, they do reveal that the game will be live in September. At least they didn't leave us hanging for weeks or months, wondering when it would be out. It's nice only having to wait a single day for information like this.

Minimum Specs Revealed for APB

Minimum Specs Revealed for APB
As the release date draws ever nearer, Realtime Worlds have seen fit to reveal the minimum specs for APB (or All Points Bulletin, for those out of the loop), their upcoming MMO. Personally, I've been anticipating this game from the moment I finished playing Crackdown (of course, I was anticipating Crackdown 2 until they announced this, but regardless...). And normally I'd say something here about the fact that I'm glad I finally upgraded my PC, blah blah, but the specs aren't really very much. Of course, this is an MMO, so the point is to reach as many people as possible, and the recommended specs are yet to be shown.

Starcraft II Finally Dated

Starcraft II Finally Dated
What's this? An actual, tangible, to-the-day release date for Starcraft II? Blizzard is notorious for giving vague "uh...[insert season here] 2010?" as an answer to a game's release, so you know they're serious when they set an actual release date. Alright, alright, I'll cut to the chase.

July 27.

Starcraft II will be fully playable, worldwide, at the end of July. Just a few short months away.

Has Ubisoft's New DRM Finally Been Hacked?

Has Ubisoft's New DRM Finally Been Hacked?
It seems that infamous piracy/hacker group Skid Row is claiming to have broken through Ubisoft's always-on, internet required DRM on Assassin's Creed II. While I can't currently find the torrent in any of the usual places or search aggregators, I have been able to find their post on Reddit about the "achievement."

So far, there had been a hack that emulated the Ubisoft server and tricked the game into thinking it was connected, but it didn't work for everyone. In the readme file that comes packed in their download (which can be found here), Skid Row shares some interesting information. They deny the DoS attacks on Ubisoft's server, saying "[T]hat picture is a fake, nor would any member of Skid Row cause such riot...Neither do we encourage anyone to take such actions, no matter how much we agree that DRM's like this one are only hurting those that do want to buy the game or have bought it."

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is On Its Way to PC

The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom is On Its Way to PC
2K Play announced today that popular XBLA title The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom will be available for download exclusively through Steam on April 20. You can check out our review here. Unsurprisingly, this version is not being developed by The Odd Gentlemen, the original developers, but by 2K China. Fortunately, though, the PC version will sport some new features over its XBLA counterpart.

Alienware's M11x Netbook Priced

Alienware's M11x Netbook Priced
I never thought the words "gaming netbook" were two that I would ever utter together seriously. Leave it to the guys at Alienware to prove me wrong. Announced back at CES, the M11x features some pretty hefty specs:

- 11.6-inch display
- NVIDIA GT335M switchable graphics
- 6.5 hours of battery life, normally, with a purported "over 2 hours" when gaming

Dragon Age: Origins Expansion?

Dragon Age: Origins Expansion?
Well, I'll have to say, my Czech is a little rusty, but thankfully, Google Translate can do most of the work for me, however rough. Anyway, according to Eurogamer, a full expansion for Dragon Age is going to be released sometime in the Spring. There isn't any official reveal, but it seems as if this info was leaked on the Bioware forums.

Crazy Steam Holiday Blowout

Crazy Steam Holiday Blowout
Steam's just been taking all of my money away from me these past two days. I've been more and more into the digital download scene lately, what with the quickness and ease of it all. And these prices aren't making me feel any more averse to it. Yesterday and today, I bought a total of sixteen games, plus three expansions for one of them, for a grand total of $75.96. Now, most of them aren't the most recent releases, but they're all great games and it's still a steal in my mind. They're running daily deals, plus discounts on most of their collection.

Playing Dragon Age Journeys Can Get You Free DLC

Playing Dragon Age Journeys Can Get You Free DLC
Dragon Age Journeys is a flash-based browser game created as a companion to the full game being released next month. But, it serves more purpose than simply keeping players occupied until that release. Through Journeys, players can unlock three DLC items offered as rewards for playing through the game's three chapters. The DLC is available on all platforms (PC, X360, PS3) and players need only to use their EA accounts (needed to play the game anyway) to obtain what I assume will be download codes for the items. A nice way to entice players to get into the universe sooner, though I guess it'll only attract those who plan on purchasing the full game already.

You can take a look at Dragon Age Journeys here.
