E3 Rumor Alert! Sony to Announce Thief 4

Update: Looks like we didn't have to wait quite that whole 12 days. Eidos have responded to the rumors about Thief 4 appearing at E3. “Our studio is completely dedicated to Deus Ex at the moment,” the developer told Connected Consoles. When asked, the developer also said that the game would have no presence at E3 because of this. So...get excited for Deus Ex!

Original: Someone at Sony may have dropped a bombshell a littler earlier than planned. About 8 hours ago, the Playstation twitter posted a very short, simple tweet that could mean big things.

The tweet read: "Oh man: http://www.thief4.com."

That's it. Sony has since removed the tweet, but that is just more evidence that this is something that's going to be a big announcement. That, or some intern was really excited about Thief 4 coming out eventually, even though no platforms or release information have been revealed, that he tweeted about it on the official Playstation twitter without thinking first. Yeah, right.

And that's exactly what makes this so interesting. Eidos has had nothing to say on the game except for the teaser image that's been up on that website since 2009. The fact that Sony is the one tweeting it could mean we have an exclusive, or more likely a timed exclusive, to be announced at E3. Maybe even with -gasp- a release date!

Only time will tell, of course. T-minus 12 days until the start of E3.
