Rare Rebrands for 25th Anniversary
And so, the image I've associated with a veteran game developer is relegated to nothing but memory. Rare, creator of such esteemed classics as Perfect Dark, GoldenEye, and the Banjo-Kazooie franchise, has decided that a rebrand was the proper way to celebrate and mark their 25 years in the games industry. While it is certainly odd for that image we all knew so well to be relegated to such a small part of the new logo, I'm sure we'll all get used to it fairly quickly. Oddly enough, Rare couldn't seem to pick just one new image, so there are four. Each with a different color and shape around the old image.
Announcing Rare’s new look, Head of Studio Mark Betteridge said: “Both Rare and the games industry have seen massive changes over the past 25 years, and right now it feels as if both we and the industry are continuing to evolve at an ever-increasing pace. With this landmark anniversary coming up, and knowing that we have a really exciting future ahead, we felt now was the time to have a new image more in keeping with an innovative and creative entertainment company which aspires to be around for at least the next 25 years!”
