Has Ubisoft's New DRM Finally Been Hacked?

Has Ubisoft's New DRM Finally Been Hacked?
It seems that infamous piracy/hacker group Skid Row is claiming to have broken through Ubisoft's always-on, internet required DRM on Assassin's Creed II. While I can't currently find the torrent in any of the usual places or search aggregators, I have been able to find their post on Reddit about the "achievement."

So far, there had been a hack that emulated the Ubisoft server and tricked the game into thinking it was connected, but it didn't work for everyone. In the readme file that comes packed in their download (which can be found here), Skid Row shares some interesting information. They deny the DoS attacks on Ubisoft's server, saying "[T]hat picture is a fake, nor would any member of Skid Row cause such riot...Neither do we encourage anyone to take such actions, no matter how much we agree that DRM's like this one are only hurting those that do want to buy the game or have bought it."

And they even included a little message for Ubisoft, too:

"Thank you, Ubisoft, this was quite a challenge for us, but nothing stops the leading force from doing what we do. Next time focus on the game and not on the DRM. It was probably horrible for all legit users, we just make their [lives] easier."

I can't see someone claiming these things pretending to be Skid Row, but nothing is confirmed until the torrent can be found. Still, sounds like the pirates have won again. Or...have they?

Sure this DRM sucks. I don't purchase Ubisoft PC games because of it (and I was lookiing forward to you, R.U.S.E), but did Ubisoft still ultimate succeed? The DRM might have finally been cracked, but only after the game's peak sales period. At this point, most people left to buy it would get it used, which doesn't benefit Ubisoft anyway. So, while I don't agree with this DRM by any means, it does seem to have served its purpose.
