Halo: Reach Release Date Revealed?

Well, well. It looks like Halo: Reach's release date might have slipped out a little earlier than Bungie intended, if Amazon has anything to do with it. I woke up this morning with an e-mail from Amazon(screen capture after the jump) concerning my order, telling me that they finally had an estimated arrival date. Now, their estimated arrival date for me was September 7, but given that it's still for two-day shipping, that puts the release on September 5th.

Update: However, Amazon has listed the release date as September 1st on their site. The problem with both of these dates, though, is that neither of them is a Tuesday. I know games don't strictly release on Tuesday, but that's the norm. The 1st is a Wednesday and the 5th is a Sunday. Just one more reason to take this rumor with a grain of salt.

What do you think? Does Amazon really know what they're talking about, or is it just speculation on their part?
