SOCOM 4 Announced

SOCOM 4 Announced
Fresh off the general success of MAG, Zipper Interactive's diving right back into development with SOCOM 4. The game was announced earlier today, and Jeremy Dunham of Zipper shed some light on just what the game entails. Plot-wise, the game surrounds a coup d'etat by a "militant revolutionary" in an "important South American country." Beyond that, all we know is that the game's single-player puts the player in command of a five-man squad charged with taking him out. Details on the game's multiplayer are scarce, with the only reveal being that the game will support up to 32 players.

In the official announcement on Playstation.Blog, Dunham goes on to assure players that the development of SOCOM 4 is not going to lessen or end Zipper's support of MAG. "[W]e’re still fully committed to supporting MAG for a long, long time and the addition of another game in our lineup doesn’t change that," says Dunham.

The world premiere trailer for SOCOM 4 will air on GameTrailers TV tonight at 12:30 EST/PST on Spike TV.
