Just Cause 2 Demo Coming March 4th

Just Cause 2 Demo Coming March 4th
Square Enix and Eidos announced today that Just Cause 2 will be getting a demo. It'll be hitting all the right digital marketplaces on March 4th. Specifically, this means the Xbox Live Marketplace, the Playstation Store, and Steam. The demo will have the player trying out what the 35 square-mile Lautan Lama Desert has to offer. That sounds like a pretty hefty locale, but it's really just a fraction of the 400 square miles of terrain that make up the map for the full game.

The press release really explains it the best, I think I'll have to let the devs speak for themselves on this one:
Hunt down and assassinate one of the game’s 50 military colonels; devastate military bases, bio fuel chambers, government infrastructure and more; hijack tuk tuks, military 4x4s, armoured vehicles, mopeds, helicopter gunships, light aircraft, mini vans and numerous other military and civilian vehicles; freefall from desert outcrops or from burning planes at 20,000 feet; and unlock one full, multi-stage mission, traversing the mountains to a heavily fortified government radar station and ending in an unforgettable desert car chase.

It sounds like this demo's going to pack quite a bit of punch, following in the same line as the most recent Darksiders demo, which apparently clocks in at ninety minutes. I'd like that to become a trend. Sure, short and sweet demos are great and all, but playing such a small portion of any game almost always leaves you wanting more, even if it's for a game that will turn you off after sitting with it for a bit. Longer demos like this allow for us to really get a feel for these games, and avoid some frustrating purchases.
