Next Assassin's Creed Will Take Ezio to Rome

In their third quarter financial conference call, Ubisoft revealed some more details about the next Assassin's Creed title. We already know that the game is going to feature some form of online mulitplayer (then again, what game doesn't these days? I'm looking at you, Bioshock 2!), but now we also know the setting. That's right, Ezio will be stalking around Rome when the next installment of the series hits sometime before the end of March, 2011.

A Ubisoft rep went on to say that the game centers around Ezio's plans to "strike directly at the heart of the Templar Order." Finally, the Assassin's are the ones making the first move! When reached for comment as to whether or not this quick release of a new title, albeit not explicitly Assassin's Creed III, meant that the franchise would become one with annual release, CEO Yves Guillemot said, "We can't comment on that yet. We are going to be coming very often [to] that franchise."
