Winter Solstice Event in Demon's Souls

It's a white Christmas in Boletaria this year! Like the Halloween event, Atlus will be shifting the world tendency in all the worlds of Demon's Souls. This will make gameplay easier, as enemies have less hp and do less damage, but you get less souls for them and they drop less unique items and upgrade materials and more healing items. Everything started today at Noon Pacific Time, and will last until next Monday, the 28th, at the same time, on the North American servers.

The reason this is such a big deal is because a Pure White world tendency in Demon's Souls is very hard to achieve on one's own, and having it triggers a number of unique events, some of which are necessary to earn all of the game's trophies.

In celebration of Halloween, Atlus shifted all of the worlds to Pure Black world tendency, which made everything a little more difficult, but also more rewarding, and triggered a number of unique events as well. But, Pure Black tendency is a little easier to obtain, as dying in Human form brings that world closer, and if you want, you can just suicide a number of times in order to get it. The only way I know of to move towards Pure White world tendency is to kill a level's demon boss, which is not always an easy task, and there will, generally, be constant shifts towards black between bosses.

Regardless, everybody that plays Demon's Souls should hop online, get their tendency changed, and take advantage of this week of easy play.

It's not confirmed, but I believe that even if you do anything to shift towards Black world tendency, the server will shift it back to Pure White anyway. Happy hunting!
