Infinity Ward Makes Major Changes to MW2 Online [UPDATE]

Infinity Ward Makes Major Changes to MW2 Online [UPDATE]
Infinity Ward might have just made the biggest mistake in PC gaming ever. They announced that Modern Warfare 2 on the PC would use a matchmaking service called IWNet and players will not be able to host their own dedicated servers. If this happens, then that eliminates custom created maps from multiplayer. Custom maps have long been a staple of PC gaming, and as you can imagine, players are pissed about this. There is currently a petition that is asking Infinity Ward to get rid of this matchmaking service and reinstate dedicated servers. That petition has nearly 28,000 signatures (including myself) and is growing by the second. If you are against this, then I strongly recommend that you go sign that petition. Infinity Ward can't just ignore 28,000 signatures (remember, it worked with the Left 4 Dead petition).

[UPDATE] As of the time of this update, the signature count has jumped to over 83,000, and will most likely reach 100,000 by tomorrow. Joystiq has asked Infinity Ward about this petition and has not received a response.
